Chickasaw girls fall to Crestwood

Lead Summary

Coach Chad Pemble didn’t think his girls were intimidated by Crestwood’s 6-foot-3 junior Sharon Goodman, who has already committed to attend and play basketball at the University of Iowa.
But the Chickasaw girls were smart enough to know that they didn’t want the Cadet — not only the conference’s leading scorer and rebounder but the leading blocker — to get anywhere near their shots.
So the Chickasaw attempts may have been a bit rushed on Monday as the NH girls fell to Crestwood 45-31. It was the exact same margin as an earlier 47-33 loss to the Cadets, with Goodman scoring 23 points each time.
New Hampton’s shooting percentage has only dipped into the 20s twice this season, both against the CW girls. Monday’s average of 23.1 percent was addressed by the Chickasaw coaching staff Monday after the game.
