NH/TV's Cleveland, Rosonke move into state semifinals

Lead Summary

New Hampton/Turkey Valley will send two wrestlers into the semifinal round tonight at the Class 2A state wrestling tournament as both 126-pound Mason Cleveland and 182-pound Evan Rosonke picked up impressive quarterfinal wins Friday afternoon.
Cleveland rallied from a 4-1 first-period deficit to pick up a 6-5 decision and stun second-seeded Kain Luensman of Monticello while Rosonke picked up a second-period pin of Carlisle’s Ethan Reed to advance to the semifinals.
A third NH/TV quarterfinalist, Max Babcock, lost a hard-fought 3-2 decision and will wrestle back later today.
Earlier in the day, Nashua-Plainfield’s Jakob Whitinger also earned a place on the medal stand by rebounding from a 113-pound quarterfinal loss with a pin in the consolation second round.
