Turkey Valley girls get UIC win

Lead Summary

Central of Elkader was on a roll when they ran into Turkey Valley Tuesday night. The Lady Trojans put a stop to a 3-game winning streak by the Warriors, and they did it with a strong second half at the Elkader gym, winning 51-36.
“[We] earned a great road win tonight,” coach Carla Nymeyer said. “Proud of the intensity and energy the girls brought to the floor, they were ready to go.”
Although the score was tied with a minute to go in the first quarter, a 5-0 run for the TV girls left them with a 15-10 lead at the break. At one point in the second quarter the Trojans had increased that lead to 22-11, but Central finished the quarter with an 8-0 run of their own to come within two, 25-23.
